Five Ways to Make Your Company Greener

1) Recycle. Keep trashcans in the office for different types of waste, such as aluminum cans, paper, cardboard, plastic, and glass. You can organize these trashcans by label or color so that your employees will know which bin to place their waste in. Don’t throw away your ink toners, printer paper, cell phones, or computers; these can easily be recycled as well. 

2) Telecommute. Allow your employees the option to work from home. If it is possible at all for your employees to work from home, letting them do so will reduce transportation-based emissions. Any meetings that need to take place can also be done at home, thanks to technological advancements. 

3) Purchase recycled products. You can buy used printer paper, inkjet cartridges, and other important office supplies from your local retailers. These products work just as well as the traditional ones. 

4) Donate. If you donate your unused or unwanted products, you will avoid the need to trash them. Donating will also help others in need while giving your company more space.

5) Turn off any computers or electronics when they are not being used. Doing this will reduce your energy use.
